I’ve received a few requests for white exterior Behr paint suggestions. After scouring the internet for example images, I can see why! It’s no wonder that my original post on Behr white paints (for interiors) remains my most popular content. For this post, I’ve compiled images of real homes painted in these beautiful white exterior Behr paint colors. I’ve also added a few more suggestions.

How to Choose White Exterior Behr Paint Colors
White paint is tricky because the undertones affect how light plays off the color. Bright whites can look quite stark, especially on the exterior of your home. For that reason, I prefer softer whites for exteriors, but that’s just my opinion. As always, it’s important to test paint colors on your own house. Look at the colors at different times of day, as the light changes. You might be surprised which color you like best.
Other factors to consider are the style of your home and any trim colors you have in mind. If you live in an adobe-style house in the southwest, you’ll probably like warmer whites. However, a Cape Cod in New England looks great in a crisp, cool white, which plays well with blues, reds, and grays.
Neutral and Bright White Exterior Behr Paint Colors
Let’s start with the brightest and most neutral Behr whites in the pack: Ultra Pure White, Polar Bear, Silky White, and White.
Ultra Pure White | White | Polar Bear | Silky White
I never imagined I would find such a beautiful example of Ultra Pure White on an exterior, simply because it’s such a bright white (it’s my go-to trim color). Because this is a small house with some crisp accent colors, this home looks great in Ultra Pure White.
In the bright Florida sun, Polar Bear white looks fantastic on this single-story home with bright landscaping and cool black accents.

If you read about my favorite Behr white paint colors here, you’ll recognize Silky White as the interior color of our entire house. It’s a very neutral white, and I feel that in our house, it has a slightly warm undertone. Silky White looks great as an exterior color on this historic cottage.
Behr also makes a very neutral color that’s aptly named White. Sometimes it’s called White 52, but that’s just the identifying code, since it doesn’t have a cute color name. It looks great on this beautiful home.
Warm Whites by Behr
Here are some slightly warmer whites that might look great on your home: Cottage White, Swiss Coffee, Spun Cotton, and Original White. So far, I can only find images for Cottage White and Swiss Coffee.
Cottage White | Swiss Coffee | Original White | Spun Cotton
Cottage White looks great on this Mediterranean home with stucco exterior with a clay tile roof.
Swiss Coffee is one of my favorite Behr whites. Check out this cute house with a contrasting black door, shutters, and house numbers.

Cool Whites by Behr
Finally, I found a couple of exterior examples of these cool white Behr colors: Off White and Soft Focus. I’d suggest Weathered White and Painter’s White as potential cool white colors, too.
Off White | Soft Focus | Weathered White | Painter’s White
Here’s another Mediterranean home, this time painted Off White by Behr. This color looks gorgeous with sage green trim and a red tile roof.
Soft Focus is a newer color from Behr and looks great on this sweet barn:
New Peel & Stick Paint Samples
While researching this post, I discovered that a few popular white Behr paint colors are available as peel and stick color samples. How cool! They are $2 each and these three white colors are available:
Ultra Pure White | Polar Bear | Painter’s White

thank you for a very good article
Hey, we just moved to the NC mountains s and have a lot of trees and greenery everywhere. I have a black metal roof and thought Soft Focus would be nice. Your thoughts?
Hi Lorrie – Everything about your new home sounds absolutely beautiful! I’m imagining rain on your metal roof and it makes me want to grab a book and a blanket. Soft focus sounds like it might be a great fit, but I hope you like whatever you choose!
Very helpful info. I’m having my stucco single story San Diego Mediterranean style house painted. I have a red tile roof along with sandstone trim around the arched front door. I’m loving Simply White, but the LRV is 88, which charts view as too high. I’ve picked Espresso Bean for garage doors. What is your view about LRV?
Thanks, KK
Hi Kathryn, Thanks for the great question. Your home sounds gorgeous – I love a red tile roof! Personally, I think super bright whites (like Simply White) are better for indoors, because they brighten up interior spaces, due to that LRV. I like off-whites on exteriors because they are less intense in direct sunlight. But… the best advice I can offer is to test your paint picks and look at your samples throughout the day as the light changes. Sounds like a warm white would be very pretty with your roof and trim. Good luck!
Thanks for all the great info on behr whites. We live in Southern California. We are painting the exterior in the next few weeks. Our house has both stucco and siding. Wondering what you’d recommend. We want a warm white stucco and grey siding, black door and even thought of black trim. Any thoughts? Currently our house is an avocado baby food green! Needs to go!!!!
Hi Kelly, Thanks for reaching out! Sounds like a striking exterior color scheme. Honestly, it’s hard to recommend colors without seeing them in person, so I would definitely suggest that you try a few samples and look at them in different light. For Behr colors, Swiss Coffee and Original White are very pretty, warm whites, but you’ll have to see the colors on your house to know if that’s what you want. You could paint the grays and blacks on cardboard and hold them up to the white, to see how they will look together. Some Behr blacks to consider: Pure Black, Black Sable, and Totally Black. Broadway and Beluga are very dark slate grays and might also work. If you want a lighter gray, I would suggest choosing the black you like best and then mixing it at 50% strength (or 75% or 25%…) to get a lighter tint and keep the palette cohesive. If you want a different paint line, Sherwin William’s Tricorn Black is a super popular pick. Good luck!
Love the write up on exterior Behr paints as Googe images and Pinterest have virtually nothing except Sherwin Williams and Benjamin Moore. Could you please expand this article to what exterior Behr colors look great with red brick?
Hi Jackie, Thanks for the comment! I agree – it’s so hard to find examples of paint colors in real life. Thanks for the suggestion, too. I might revisit this post to see if there are new images to add to the collection. Great idea!
What white paint colors should I avoid if I don’t want a house to look yellow against winter snow?
Hi Susi, Thanks for the comment. I would avoid the warmer whites and go with a neutral or cool white. Good luck!
Good morning,
Getting our house stuccoed next month and I’ve chosen “Teton Blue” by Behr Marquee however, I need to pick a shade of white for the pop outs around the windows. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated. Picking paint colors is not my forte lol
Hi Rebecca! Thanks for the comment. Teton Blue looks like such a pretty color! I would probably go with a bright white, like Polar Bear or Ultra Pure White, but you should definitely try samples first to make sure you like it. If the windows end up looking yellow next to a bright white, choose something more mellow, like Swiss Coffee or Off White.
Good luck!
