Where to Find Affordable Lighting
My favorite online options for affordable lighting are Amazon, Wayfair, AllModern (part of Wayfair), Etsy, Lamps Plus, and IKEA. It can be tricky to sort through the pages and pages of options on some of those sites, but there are deals to be found. Here are a few tricks for Amazon.
AMAZON SEARCH TIPS – Type in your search phrase, click on an item that is close to what you have in mind, and scroll down the page. Look for the section subtitled Like or dislike for instant recommendations with other similar choices. Watch what happens when I click on the thumbs up or thumbs down to narrow my search for a woven pendant light:

THEN
After I click on a thumbs up icon, Amazon switches out suggestions to show three more similar pendants. I circled two of them, which fit my search (in style… though not in price.)
NEXT
When I click on thumbs up one more time, on a new item, the search dials in further and I like almost all of the choices. The second image below shows the three new lights that were updated. This is a quick way to compare similar items on Amazon, without navigating away from the page.
